Potential New Revenue Stream
for Recyclable Commodities
With the
introduction of the
Recycling Offset Credit (ROCs) program by RecycleNet the potential of a new revenue stream has been created.
When participants
voluntarily report
tonnage of materials recycled, RecycleNet
awards Recycling Offset Credits (ROCs) for each ton recycled.
RecycleNet operates the program as a free service and does not charge a fee to
participants to issue ROCs.
The ROCs program is a certified measurement tool to verify these recycling efforts.
It is RecycleNet's belief that between now and the 2010 - 2012 time frame the North American
carbon footprint / climate change market will mature.
At this point in time no one can predict the evolution path of this market and it may take any
number of directions such as cap & trade regulations, carbon taxes, energy/resource/recycling tax credits
or some other program, regulation or instrument that does not currently exist.
Start banking your ROCs today
The environmental impact of recycling a ton of material can result in the reduction of multiple tons of
carbon/climate footprint as calculated by measurement tools like the US EPA WARM.
The trading of ROCs
may see a free and fair market value equal to or greater than the
current price of some scrap commodities themselves, resulting in a windfall in the economic impact of recycling.
With no barrier to entry, no risk, the adoption of the ROCs program provides the opportunity to
accumulate Recycling Offset Credits (ROCs)
today
to maximize your strategic position for the challenges of tomorrows marketplace.
It is RecycleNet's hope that the Recycling Offset Credits (ROCs) program will provide an economic
incentive to increase the sustainability and strength of the Recycling Industry.
