This enormous desk is about 97% solid oak stained a pleasing golden color; where it isn't oak there are two plastic cd dividers, a plexiglass shelf, and a few plywood drawer backs. The desk measures 78"L x 24 3/4"W x 30 1/4"H. Books can sit across the top of the separate full-length hutch that has 2 cabinets,2 cd racks & a removable center plexiglass shelf. The lower section has 2 cabinets & 2 cd racks; the hutch's plexiglass shelf spans the 24 1/4"W monitor space that's 19"H from the shelf down, or 24"H w/out it. There's a pull-out keyboard shelf, 2 drawers, a deep drawer for hanging files, a CPU space, and an open space w/one adjustable-height shelf & one pull-out shelf sitting on the bottom. This desk is the antithesis of flimsy IKEA furniture. As far as I can tell it will last many, many years, probably a few generations. There are a number of scratches, divots & dings on each corner & side where I haven't quite squeaked by it w/my power wheelchair, and various small marks on the flat surface. We're moving & need to be out on the 8th, so the 1st person to show up w/a truck or van and at least 3, more likely 4 strong friends (plus you) gets this.
