Florescent bulb recycling

Message :

I am inquiring on my options on recycling ,especially florescent bulbs. Do I need to pay for a service to come pick them up or is there a company that pays out or credits you for recycling.Any info will help, so far the only info I have is to pay some company to pick up but it is not cheap, I was hoping for a more cost friendly solution.
